"Bakuman" Live-action Movie Release Date and Visual Unveiled

According to the Mainichi Shimbun paper's Mantan Web site, the live-action movie Bakuman, inspired by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata's manga, will premiere on October 3. It also revealed a new poster.

 

 

Hitoshi ōne is directing the movie. He formerly directed the live-action adaptation of Mitsurou Kubo's manga Moteki. Takeru Satoh (live-action Rurouni Kenshin's Kenshin) will play Moritaka Mashiro and Ryunosuke Kamiki (live-action Rurouni Kenshin's Sōjirō Seta) will play Mashiro's friend Akito Takagi in the movie.

 

The film tells a story that two friends who decide to become manga creators and aim to serialize their manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.

 

Shota Sometani (live-action Parasyte) plays their rival Eiji Nizuma.
