New Manga by Adachi Mitsuru Calls for Reprint of Magazine

Last month, we reported that famous manga artist Adachi Mitsuru would launch a new manga series called "Mix", a sequel to his previous work "Touch", in May. The series has officially started to be serialized in the June issue of Shogakukan's Gessan Magazine on May 12. The magazine was sold out within days of release, so Shogakukan has decided to reprint this issue, which is scheduled to be released on May 23. This bold decision, a rarity for any manga magazine as well as the first for Gessan, proves that the name of this successful sports manga is still strong even after 26 years.

Touch was originally serialized in the weekly manga magazine Shonen Sunday from 1981 to 1986. The story of Mix takes place 26 years later at the same Meisei high school but revolves around a different pair of brothers involved in the same baseball team. Asakura Minami and Tatsuya Uesugi, two main characters in Touch, are expected to seen in the new series.
