New Sailor Moon Anime Announced for 2013 with Momoiro Clover Z Performing Theme Song

Naoko Takeuchi's popular manga series Sailor Moon celebrated it's 20th birthday on July 6. The celebration was held at Nico Farre in Tokyo, where the publisher Kodansha announced a new anime will be released in 2013 worldwide. 

Sailor Moon, created by Naoko Takeuchi, was serialized in Kodansha's Nakayoshi magazine from 1992 to 1997. The manga resulted in spinoffs into other types of media, including a highly popular anime, as well as musical theatre productions, video games and a tokusatsu series. 

Japanese pop group Momoiro Clover Z will be performing the theme song for this new animated adaptation of Naoko Takeuchi's manga. The group attended the Japan Expo 2012 in Paris, where they performed "Moonlight Densetsu", the original opening theme song for Sailor Moon anime.
