Silver Spoon Manga to Resume on August 31

This year's 39th issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine announced that Hiromu Arakawa's Silver Spoon manga will be resumed in the next issue on August 31. The following issue will feature the manga on its cover, and the magazine will offer readers a replica of the cover's art as a present. The manga went on hiatus in February, shortly after returning from an eight-month hiatus in January.

The manga follows Yugo Hachiken, a young boy who enrolls in an agriculture school. But when he enters school, he finds his agricultural school life is not as easy as he initially believed. He is not used to the realities of a life of farming, agriculture, and animal husbandry. To keep up with his classmates, he finds that he needs to adapt, learning to respect the knowledge of everybody around him.

The 13th compiled volume of the manga revealed in June 2015 that the climax of the manga's story will be "imminent".

Silver Spoon won the 5th Manga Taisho Award's Grand Prize and the 58th Shogakukan Manga Award (Shonen category) in 2012, and the first Japan Food Culture Contents Award in 2013.

The manga inspired two anime adaptations in summer 2013 and January 2014. A live-action movie based on the manga opened in Japan in March 2014.
