Fairy Tail 439"Arbaless Kingdom"Summary:

Being taken to Fairy Tail's mysterious underground chambers, Erza wonders why is she the one to be taken to the restricted grounds. After Mest tells her that only the Guild Master can have the access, he shows her Fairy Tail's biggest secret, Lumen Histoire. With her being shocked to see the first Guild Master's body, the rest of Team Natsu suddenly comes, turning out to be following her and Mest all along. As everyone is curious on why is Mavis encased in a crystal, Mest says that there must be a very good reason, subsequently transferring his own memories to everyone, showing them the images of his past.Going back nine years ago, Makarov assigns Mest for an undercover mission in the Magic Council, wanting him to get as much information about the western continent as possible, being for the sake of the guild. As a month passes, Mest informs Makarov about the lack of information he receives, as well as Fairy Tail becoming a sensitive topic. As the former comes to a conclusion to erase his own memory, he tells the latter about changing his own name to Doranbolt. As more months pass, due to Makarov's frequent visits, Mest decides to infiltrate Fairy Tail in order to get information, being the reason to why he was present during the S-Class Mage Promotion Trial. Seven years after Acnologia's rampage on Tenrou Island, Mest expresses to Makarov his gladness that everyone is safe. As the latter tells him to come back to Fairy Tail, the former tells him that he's on the reach of the information he is looking for and thus cannot leave the Magic Council yet. 

 

 

After the war with Tartaros, Makarov reveals that the Albareth Empire is in the western continent, one that is very dangerous. Going further, Makarov says that Lumen Histoire is what they're looking for, being the main reason why an invasion took place ten years ago, which was stopped due to the Magic Council's intervention, with Face being a backup plan if they ever needed one. Telling about the future invasion due to the fall of Magic Council as well as all Faces on the continent, Makarov says that Ishgar is outnumbered, having 500 guilds, whereas the Albareth Empire has 730 guilds, including Dark ones. Hoping that Magic Council will recover by that time, Makarov decides to go to Albareth to stall for time at the least. With Mest telling him about the fatality of his decision, Makarov responds that it's something a parent must do to protect their family.
